The Role of TikTok in Social Media
What does TikTok retrieve that had been obsolesced earlier? I think one thing that TikTok retrieves is the sort of like early internet culture of like amateur video and meme making. So it's making still visual images, obsolete and replacing them with video. What does TikTok flip into or reverse into if pushed to its extremes? One possibility could be a culture of 24 hour digital surveillance because so much of TikTok is about filming everything you do.
