The Relationship Between the Catholic Church and Psychology

Historians debate the nature of the relationship between the Catholic Church and psychology. Pope Pius XII gives an address to the Fifth International Congress on psychotherapy and clinical psychology in 1953. It's the first time, maybe the second time, all happening in the early 1950s, that the church is now saying yes, the unconscious exists.
