I Was a Star Wars Nut and I Grew Up in a Very Academic Family
As a kid, I suddenly broke the fourth wall of seeing how a tie fighter blew up. My brother was responsible for igniting that spark of cinema. On his 16th birthday, he started studying to essentially become a lighting department. He eventually did basically work experience kind of internship with ITV. And at that time, he didn't really know what the difference between being a film DP was or just a working lighting cameraman or lighting person was. After leaving school and not having any contacts, he went to this place called the New York Film Academy where he did a four-week course on 16 mil.
