Masah has had an up and down career as an investor. At the time of the dot com boom, he was one of the biggest investors at SoftBank in the United States. He managed to turn a $20 million investment in Alibaba into $60 billion when the e-commerce company IPO'd. Masah likes to say he was the richest man in the world for a few days. But then he lost about $70 billion when tech companies went bust.
