Is Joe McCarthy the Driving Force Behind the Red Scare?

The transcript makes me think that the people saying it was Roy have a point. That is absolutely the textbook of like he's screaming at you, we screaming at you,. And then he's nice, and he's normal and things get back to normal. And then he starts screaming. He's doing that thing that abusive people do, like abusive partners do. I don't know, I don't think he and McCarthy had any sort of romantic connection. But I do think that emotionally, they kind of had that, that sort of thing going on.
