What Are Social Dividends?

Wages are to be contrasted with what they call social dividends. Social dividends are payments by society to the individual, payments not given in proportion to a contribution of his. Examples are police and fire services, bridges, sports, stadium,. education, museums, public libraries. These developed under late capitalism in its mixed or welfare stage phase. They will, of course, be enormously expanded under socialism With its greater gross national product.
