When we don't have a lot to go on, we go on simple cues. And one of the simplest ways we determine trustworthiness is in micro second glances at individual's face. If there's some damage to that portion of the brain, we can't recognize faces any more. We come into the world. That's like pre installed. It's something that's shaped by our experiences, but it comes free with every copy of the human brain.
