The Sermon on the Mount

Jesus death was a sacrifice dealing with evil and to do that he had to be struck by evil. He intentionally went into our death so that he could open up a way through it out to the other side. And we've talked about eating of the tree of life as a type of transformation. That's what he's providing access to.
