Ingo Swan and Harold Sherman's Remote Viewing Experiments
At the time, not nearly as much was known about Jupiter since we'd only been able to study it with earthbound telescopes. Ingo threatened to quit if he didn't get his way and relieved the boredom he was having from just doing routine experiments. The Pioneer 10 flyby gave them a unique opportunity. If they could pick up on facts about Jupiter that would only be discovered during the probe's flybys, this would count as evidence that remote viewing could be used over such distances.
