The Unspeakable Violence of John List
John List grew up in a strict Lutheran household and was cut off from his English speaking secular peers. After graduating high school, he joined the army despite his mother's protests. He met widowed single mother Helen Morris who told him she was pregnant one month into their relationship but then lied when they were married. In between having Patty and John, List moved the family to Kalamazoo, where Helen began to pull away from the family. So he did the healthy thing by getting her pregnant again - because nothing fixes an unhappy marriage like not communicating and having more children.
