The Seditious Conspiracy Charges in the January 6th Attack
In 1954, four members of a Puerto Rican nationalist group burst into Congress and shot five congressmen. The response from the Justice Department was interestingly in the Eastern District of New York where these people were based to charge them with seditious conspiracy. So again, really striking parallel. People stormed the Capitol building trying to promote their cause and then the response from the justice department is to charge them on seditious conspiracy charges.
