Cruel Stitch - The Most Useful Stitch
Cruel Stitch is perhaps on the whole, the easiest and most useful of stitches. The test of good workmanship is that at the back it should look like a backstitch. Outline Stitch B differs from Cruel Stitch only in that the thread is always kept upwards above the needle. Thick Cruel Stitch gives a heavier line in higher relief than Ordinary Cruel Stitch.
