The Effect of Economic Connectivity on Social Mobility
The study looked at people's social networks and asked how well connected are they across economic class lines. People aren't posting their incomes on their Facebook pages, so we had to infer that. The machine learning techniques used in the study could never have been done even a decade ago. We're able to predict incomes with pretty high accuracy.
