The Importance of a Bone Marrow Biopsy in Sepsis
The more severe the pancytopenia, the more I worry about a malignant process driving it. The neutrophil count of 500 or less is important mainly because that patient is at exceedingly high risk of infectious complications. And then the that in combination with the circulating blasts makes me very concerned about this being a, a malignancy like a leukemia.
