Children's Clothes - A Parody of Adulthood
In the 18th century, children's clothes were designed for ease of movement. They may have been easier to move in than a corset, but these clothes were still really formal. It has everything to do with our evolving concepts of childhood and how much freedom we think children ought to have. Although their corsets are long gone, children are still bound by legal requirements.
