The Native History of Water in Arizona

I was particularly interested that you bring up one of the, I think, few ways that a lot of the dominant discourses about water in that part of the country do acknowledge that the indigenous history is this cautionary parable. Those people, like their descendants are still there. They're producing many of these narratives that you're looking at in that chapter. One of things I found really interesting was the ways in which Phoenix, Arizona, is superimposed on the Hocham's previous land usage markers.
