I would argue, and maybe you don't agree, i would argue that the insights into human nature that dickens illuminates are 90% of what's important. I think he was truly great. And it's hard to understand the tradition of e even a, even something like, i haven't seen gain a game of thrones, but i'd be willing to bet that there's some sort of allusion to shakespeare. What we read matters as much as how we read. The topo the text that we have students read is not irrelevant. reading is not some a set of fungible skills that can be learned and applied no matter what text youre beading.
