When I was growing up, there was room for different types of black voices. Like Bill Cosby was a storyteller comedian. Dick Gregory was a political comedian. Footballston was more of a vaudevillian type of telling jokes. Godfrey Cameron was like a hipster comedian. Red Fox was, they called it the party records. He was like a blue, you know, type comic and tote that type of stuff. Richard Pryor eventually became a different version of that.
