What's the Point of Having Events?
David Frum: I think part of the function of having events is to give a focal point for people in that city who have those ideas to come to the event and then meet each other there. We're relational beings, we want to be with others. And then it also helps you, you know, develop your ideas. So when you go out into your everyday life and you're confronted with somebody who's saying something nonsensical, you can give a friendly rational response to it rather than just staying silent in the face of falseness.
