The Theology of the Relationship of the Father and the Son
Thomas Aquinas' focus in his treatment of these opening verses of Hebrews was on the theology of the relationship of the Father and the Son. Calvin's commentary as might be expected is thoroughly theological in its approach like Chrysostom. John Owen says that the reference in verse 2 to the Son is the main hinge on which all the arguments of the apostle in the whole epistle do turn.
