The music was entirely new and it was so loosely sketched that everything was much more spontaneous because all of the musicians were playing it for the first time. All of them are connected but they're connected a little bit differently. With such a carefully phrased solo, it really holds together very well. He ties later ideas back to the early ideas. It has a nice sort of continuity to it.
