YouTube's Video Recommendations Are Distinct From Publishing or Display
The plaintiffs argue that YouTube's video recommendations are distinct from publishing or display. Users only have so much space or real estate on their screen and the platformer service has to choose what to prioritize. So in that case, so long as the algorithm isn't designed specifically to perhaps serve ISIS videos to impressionable young men so that they'll go off to Syria, then Section 230 ought to protect the platform's neutral between good and bad purposes.
