The Light of the World
Joy is like the buoy that you find your way back to in Elizabeth Alexander's memoir The Light of the World. While it sounds like a grief memoir which in some respects it is it's also such a joyful celebration of life and I mean I don't even think about the two like co-existing so much as being just interposed directly on top of each other in this work. It reminded me a little bit of One Long River of Song by Brian Doyle who passed away at the age of 60 from cancer.
