How to Engage Students in the Experience of Learning

I want to revisit the earlier parts of our conversation and thank you for sharing those I suspect painful stories of your education, particularly the one where the book gets thrown at you. Would you take us back if you were going to revisit that? And I'm specifically interested in the kindness you speak of involving students in the experience; how a group of learners might go about finding some primary sources.
