Can a Big Band Get Limited Liability Insurance Before They Go on Tour?

Death metal band insomnium were forced to cancel their tour because they couldn't afford insurance. They turned to fans for help, and i sent them a bundle of mine. Is it the case that a big band has to get some kind of insurance before they go out on tour? I mean, normally, like, we have some kind of, you know, limited liability insurance. We're a fairly small unit when it comes to actual touring. But then again, i don't know how many people are on your crew or what regulations there are once you start getting into the business.
