The Origins of Antibodies
In this case, we're talking about llamas. And one of those important differences is nature equip them with antibodies that are different from ours. These animals evolved to have a slightly different version of antibodies where there's only a heavy chain. So, this makes these antibodies much smaller. But it also means because you don't have the variable segment of a heavy chain and a light chain, which in our cases forms the binding domain to a certain target.
