What Makes a Language Hard or Easy?

There isn't a language which is extremely easy for English speakers to learn. Puleon, the basis that when you learn those languages, you're learning a lot of words that have very similar words in English. German and Dutch all have objectively much more complex grammar systems than English. A language like Chinese possibly has a much simpler grammar system for learning.
