The Importance of Organizing the Sport
The way we're delivering the sport is killing it, says former Australian swimmer. Sports are not looking for that sport but to fit into their framework. Swimming has become the least attractive sport for children and families anywhere. It's a cash cow - you can't get sports groups to change how they do things. I've just been recognised by the Hall of Fame for a lifetime commitment to swimming. So many other sports could add gymnastics and diving and so many other sports to that thing too. But we just can't break them out of this traditional mindset. And it's sad because most sports are driven by passionate volunteers who want to see it successful.
