What's the Generalizable Knowledge of a Data Analysis?

Mike: What's the generalizable knowledge that you can take out of a given data analysis? I think if you could imagine there's like a block diagram of like a sequence of events. And at each, like, transition from one stage to the next, there were a series of alternatives, and yet you chose one of them,. In some cases, maybe there's no alternative, in which case there's no decision to be made... But that's pretty rare, I think. That sounds awful, right? Yeah.
