The Importance of Inferential Learning in AI
AI can learn to do something by example. And sometimes, and if it gets the right feedback, it can do it better than we can. Because it can learn from its own mistakes, often very rapidly. It can even, to computerize Go players, the game of Go, can play against one another, against them itself effectively - and learn from playing against itself. We don't even know how they do it, but it's quite mysterious, in fact. But they generalize. And they make inferences from a collection of data,. And AI is now capable of doing that kind of thing. Does it do it exactly like we do? We don't actually know. Almost surely
