The Evolution of Magos and Goes
Magos and Goes are two terms that are often translated as magician or sorcerer. In the second century CE people were using them interchangeably I remember seeing in Plutox writing he uses a voice a lot. These terms increasingly especially into the Roman period are used as categories of illegitimate ritual. And we can think of many proper material protective devices in Christianity as well.
