Are Community Meetings Reflective of the Community?
There's not great great data about this. The majority of people are kind of like it's the silent majority in the middle that don't really feel strongly one way or the other on a project. But they're not the people who show up to vote so actually in this particular situation I'd sent a survey to every landowner in some rural Michigan townships. And my survey data finds a slight majority overall of folks who say that they would support additional wind turbines where at the ballot box it was something like 63% voted no to that project.
