The Digital Bridge Reconnects the Brain and the Legs

Scientists used a brain spine interface to help paralyzed man walk again. The device connected electrodes on the surface of Oskum's brain and other electrodes implanted in his spine. Any activity that happened in his brain was decoded by a machine learning model, which then sent signals to the spine. After using the BSI for a few months, doctors realized that Oskum had begun using his legs without the help of the device.
