The Importance of Variety in Decision Making
The ability to distinguish things and to make decisions on them is always contextual. Like it's circumstantial attenuation of variety, which means the code could simply be scrambled for you. But crucially, if you see two lights that are laid out horizontally left and right, you can't tell at a distance in the dark whether it's the top floor or the bottom floor that's lit.
