What Inspired You to Write Your Dissertation?

When i was working at roudledge, i wrote a book called getting published. I didn't want to use the word academic and the title because there ware a lot of people who are writing really serious things but don't consider themselves academics. Self doubt is the one thing i can count on when i'm speaking to an academic. And that comes through in dissertations which are very, very cautious documents. Ah, and so what i've done is without scolding peoples give them tools to think with so that they can work out for themselves what kind of message they're trying to get across.
