The Importance of Identity in the Holocaust
Magnus Hirschfeld left Germany in 1930 to go on a speaking and fundraising tour. The Nazis destroyed the Institute of Sexual Science that he had set up, along with material taken from it. He became part of Nazi propaganda as an example of "the evil degenerate Jew" In his last years, he wrote a book about racism which was first published in 1938. His materials were handed over to Li Xiu Tong after his death in 2003.
