I worry that the long march towards international governance and institutions might come at the cost of British national self-determination. I don't think you're losing much of English culture if you recognize a European court of human rights. The immigration question is harder. Open borders does raise the question of how you sustain a democracy, since democracy is the self-government of the governed.
