Curious why more people don't think in this way of outliers. Maybe one thing is they don't realize they have nothing to lose, right? If you're in college or something, what are you worried about? The thing that an option in finance is just you only get the value of the thing if it increases in value beyond a certain point. Otherwise, you can kind of just forget about it. And I think you should just think of your life this way. Like, nobody gives a shit about these marginal things you're doing. It feels like risk mitigation more than exploring the ceiling.
