Is There a Connection Between the Individual and the Object?
I think attention is different every single time it occurs. So I don't want to define types of attention in this way because every encounter is different. And that means that different faculties might be involved in each encounter. When I talk about attention as an engagement with reality and it's extremely broad definition, but it's broad precisely because it needs to encompass the more tactile engagement,. The more intellectual engagement, the more visual engagement and so on. All of these are probably playing at all, maybe all in the same way, but they're probably usually all engaged when we're paying attention.
