Eku's Sensei - A Brief History

Most of what people know about eku's life, so to speak, is not actually from his lifetime. In particular the iconoclastic and unusual master was the subject of many fanciful tales during the edo period. The poems themselves are pretty sparse on detail and could be read a few different ways. Eku did also write prose but those prose pieces tend to be less well remembered.
