AVX is advanced vector instructions. These are ones that have been, they're in addition to ones that used to be part of the legacy SSE instructions. The core CLR, the thing that is making.NET work, requires at least SSE2 and above. Now that AVX is available to everyone, the.NET core starts to expose that.
