The Politics of AI Reform in the US
There is a commercial interest underlying how both sides are looking at this. There's no federal privacy law, right, the issues with how this works in the US that makes it more difficult. And as much as I have issues with the European approach on how they go about regulation, they have been working on an AI act for more than two years. So it is just a question of just how both machines work that is very different and getting them to both agree on some sort of boundary code beyond platitudes is going to be difficult.
