Don't buy cheap coax. Get good coax because you don't want to lose your signal going to the antenna. Most of the DX operators are not sophisticated hams and they will work you. You can take a used radio that you buy for $300 at a hamfest and $50 of wire or a dipole. As the Grayline moves west, I can work all the way to the West Coast U.S. And as Joe talks about Grayline, that basically means sunrise and sunset.
