The Importance of Lyme Serology in Primary Care

The first Lyme testing is really, really terrible. During the acute illness with arithymimograms, it's often negative. So you can't use it as a conformation of your clinical suspicion. And then second is after treatment, it often stays positive for years. I think that one aspirational thing we have in diagnostic infectious diseases would be a really good antigen or PCR test for Lyme disease. They don't exist or a really good test of cure. But that doesn't exist either.
