Benjamin Franklin: A Child of the Enlightenment

Benjamin Franklin is considered a key sort of later enlightenment figure but because he was a scientist also and his inventions. According to historians Benjamin Franklin over his lifetime owned as many as seven slaves including one that worked inside his house and sort of a shop assistant. Mozart was influenced by Benjamin Franklin and actually ended up composing several pieces for Benjamin Franklin's instrument called the Armonium which was based on the concept of rubbing wet wine glasses to create musical tones.
