Software Rituals with David Nolen
Software Unscripted
Java Script
The first functional programming that I wrote, as opposed to like reading about, it was in coffee script. And something that I really liked about coffee script and we actually continued this in rock is that there's only one syntax for defining functions. We also had a policy at the job where I worked that you had to have a getter and a setter for every single piece of data,. Every single field in every single class. The interface name was the more the nicer name to use. In some sense, all these rules are established by an engineer who has bad experience with other languages or environments. They've codified these rituals whether or not they apply in every context or not.
