Shelley: If I know that there's a review coming out, all of my mental illness races to the forefront and it starts jabbering. But if I sit down with Neil or if I just look at something he's written and I remember that I really choose her, I choose dread because it helps you feel paradoxically in control. And so if I can prepare for the terrible review, then it's not going to be as bad when it happens, right? Well, that's what you get if you grow up in a family with a bad marriage or alcoholism. Most writers did not grow up in these families of highly evolved spiritual and psychologically fit parents.
