The Drool Light

We're staking out Patrick McKenna's house in the Idaho Club, gated community. If not, then we can take those dogs legally by right. They've been abandoned by their owners for more than six hours. And Paris has suddenly adopted a southern accent. It's after dark here. The car is getting increasingly muggy, fogged up, thick with anticipation. There's a faint and yet sometimes bright green light coming from the front seat.
