Government Spends or Borrows?
Wele: The idea that the government has to go out and find money in order to spend is wrong. He says it's an imperative, right? They're quired to borrow to cover the short fall. And so the argument goes that the government, by running bigger deficits, leads to a diminution of the available supply of dollars. Wele: Even if the government is gobbling up dollars, which it isn't, private businesses still have access to credit.
