Colon Estrus Inhibitors in Alzheimer's Disease

Colon estrus inhibitors increase the availability of acetylcholine at the synaptic cleft. They do this by blocking the acetylcholinesterase enzyme so that the neurotransmitter itself is not broken down quite as rapidly, and then it's more available to bind to receptors. Patients who are treated with these medications may have a small improvement in their cognition,. potentially in neuropsychiatric symptoms, and then potentially in activities of daily living.
